Kittens bounce off the walls here in the cattery! The furballs are frequently afflicted with the “zoomies” and must scamper madly to get it out of their little systems. It has been a busy summer at Cherished Siberians. We have seen kittens born, learn how to nurse and be nurtured by their mama, who has done a remarkable job of feeding, caring for and protecting her babies. Eventually they ventured out of their baby box and started exploring the wider world of the kitten room. Kittens are all about curiosity. Some kittens are fearless, others, more cautious. Either way, discoveries are made. Their movements become more assured. Soon they are climbing! They love to scramble up to the top of the cat tree, watch out the window, bask in the sunlight. Everything is potentially fun– a toy, a rug, a cardboard box. Another discovery… solid food. Food is indescribably exciting for kittens. They hurtle towards their food bowls. Even Mama’s bowl is a target. She just heads for theirs if they steal hers!
One important aspect of growing up as kittens is to learn how to socialize with the humans who serve as their guardians and love them unconditionally! We visit them all throughout the day, play with them, talk to them and get them accustomed to lap time. They also get to meet and spend supervised time with the other cattery residents.
We want to share a few photos of the most recent litter of two, doing their thing! Enjoy.
If you are interested in a kitten of your own, contact us. We have one currently available:
a black tabby male.
